Texas Businesswoman Establishes Progressive Nonprofit Organization

Ykia Williams’ HER SKIN Foundation Debuted In September 2019

DALLAS — During a recent interview with nationally-acclaimed Making Headline News, Texas businesswoman Ykia Williams spoke with us about how years ago, she miraculously outlasted suicidal thoughts and exercised her faith by coping with her unlikely skin condition and ultimately establishing her credible nonprofit organization.

Williams is the Founder and Executive Director of HER SKIN Foundation, her Central Texas -based nonprofit organization that has become a fixture for providing empowerment and mentoring programs for women and girls, particularly those in the state of Texas and around the world who have endured trauma.

A rising Central Texas endeavor that was established in the final quarter of 2019, HER SKIN Foundation officially acquired its 501c3 status in September of that year.

“It is my personal mission to ensure that more women tell their stories and heal from trauma,” said Williams, who recently self-published the book, Confidently Scarred. “It is my goal to ensure that women that have endured trauma have a voice and know that they can walk in the power of their healing.”

To her credit, Williams has become greatly inspired go to great lengths to help empower what she appropriately describes as the “community of people” cope with trauma.
